Right now, one of the best ways we can support our brothers and sisters who are people of color is by reading, listening and learning about racism. Now is not the time to say “I don’t see color.” Instead, see color, learn about your own racial bias (if you are white, you have it), teach your kids about racism and become a better ally. I wanted to share some books that I have read or plan to read specifically about this topic. Links are affiliate links in this post.
In my searching, I found most retailers are currently sold out, but you can still order and the book will ship when it is back in stock. If the book is sold out at you favorite book retailer, I recommend getting the ebook edition or audiobook.
Several audiobook providers offer free downloads to new subscribers, so this is an easy way to get these titles on racism for free. Here are my favorites:
Audiobooks.com: Sign up for a free 30-trial of audiobooks.com and get two free books. You can download the books, keeping them forever, and cancel immediately so you won’t be charged in the future.
Libro.fm: Get three audiobooks for the price of one. What I love about Libro.fm is 50% of your purchase goes to support indie book stores, who are really suffering right now. If you have $15, do this option! If you cancel, you still keep your books forever.
Audible: Owned by Amazon, Audible is another great audiobook service. Get one free book when you sign up. If you cancel, you still keep your books.
