Welcome to Project Life Tuesday 2014 If you are new to The Mom Creative, welcome. I hope you will stay awhile. I'm Jessica – wife to Matthew, mom to Elias, a silly and spirited six-year-old, and Adeline, a spunky three-year-old. I'm also a marketing professional, savvy deal finder, photo lover and memory keeper trying to juggle it all. The first Tuesday of every month, I share my most recent spread as well as host a linky for readers to link up their pictures/layouts. Some links are affiliate links.
I spent a ton of time on Project Life this weekend and it felt so great to get back into my supplies and pictures. I had not touched my album since getting pregnant and had April – July to tackle. April was our trip to California/Disney, so I had about 2,000 more pictures than normal that month. YIKES.
I decided to start by printing all my Instagrams and Matthew's Instagrams from the past four months. (I print them at Walgreens.) Then I tackled April and May's photos on my hard drive and uploaded those to Walgreens.
Lastly, I edited photos that were odd sizes to print on my photo printer. Well, as luck would have it, it needed ink right in the midst of printing my last 13×19 page of enlargements.
So today I am going to share the last week of March, our beach trip (minus the last page that needs an enlargement), about 1/2 of our Disney trip and Easter. Get ready to see a lot of variety!
This was a super simple spread. Instagrams on the left, with a journaling card from the retired Just Add Color and a Design A on the right. All the cards in the right were from the Midnight Core Kit (I snatched it up when it was on sale for $9.99!)
Next we have photos from our trip to Laguna Beach. I ended up with one spread of beach photos, with a Design G and a 6×12 page in the middle. This worked out perfectly. On the first spread I used cards from the new Aqua edition, which I found at Hobby Lobby. I ADORE it.
I love the G page, with all the photos of Elias.
On the next spread, I used cards from the mini girls kit, which I think I bought at either Hobby Lobby or Michaels. (It is a little off white, but it felt so beachy to me that I just had to use it.)
The next spread is a work in progress because I need that one last 6×8 photo, so we will go to the Disney part of the album. I did not worry about sticking to one spread or anything like that. I just printed the pictures I really liked that I felt like helped tell the vacation story and went with it.
I decided to stick with using all black, white and red journaling cards, so the midnight kit came in very handy. You can find tons of Disney printables etc. online, but frankly, I don't have time for that business. 🙂 The first page has some of my most favorite Disney pictures in it. On the right you can see a trimmed a 12×12 page down to 8×12 for some vertical photos that I had. I also used Martha Stewart office labels from Staples for journaling directly on the photos.
The next spread I added a grid card (with a Mickey sticker from my stash) to journal about all the photos in the spread. I decided to edit most of our character pictures down to 3×4 to save space and because I liked the idea of having them all in one place.
On the next spread you can see more character photos and a 12×12 page trimmed to 8×12 for Instagrams from the trip. These pages were part of the awesome We R Memory Keepers Multi Pack which is on sale for $4 on Amazon right now (regularly $13.88). This is one of my favorite packs of page protectors and at this price I bought 5 packs. Go stock up and thank me later.
The next few spreads are still in progress (darn printer!), so we'll skip ahead to the end of April and Easter.
I used the girl mini pack for this Easter spread as well.
Again, I trimmed a 12×12 to 8×12 to accommodate for some vertical photos.
Multiple Project Life core kits are DIRT CHEAP on Amazon right now. Some are marked down because they are being retired, while others I have no idea why. Regardless, now is a great time to stock up on product, buy for gifts (Christmas, birthdays), etc. The past few weeks we have been seeing a lot of kits drop in price on Amazon. Prices change quickly, so don't wait.

Great pages! So many great photos!
Thank you for letting us know about these great deals Jessica! Love your PL pages!! Your kids are so cute! BTW, the big pack of design A pocket pages is on sale for only $14.66! I bought a pack last night. Can beat that price!…that is the design I use the most 🙂
Yes, there is tons on sale. It’s craziness. I feel like a broken record, but you can’t bear the prices. I have stocked up so much that I shouldn’t buy Project Life until 2018.
Thanks for sharing! I always enjoy your spreads and it inspires me to get back into doing mine. I’m currently caught up, but I’ve lost my spark….so I’m doing a picture a day challenge and maybe that and vacation will shake me out of it. 🙂 I loved your letter to Elias about day-care ending. My son is heading for K too and I’m getting all weepy about it!

Great job persevering through all those photos of your days at Disney. Special moments like those take me the longest to complete because it’s so easy to get overwhelmed by 2000 (!!) photos. You powered through 🙂 Your children are going to love looking at these pictures!

Love seeing your pages. Thinking about doing on but I don’t have kids and really don’t take enough pictures.
Thanks for giving this Nana some pics to enjoy <3

I loved all of your pages but my favorite were the pages of Disneyland with your children. They look so happy. What wonderful memories you and your husband have created for them.
We will forever be thankful for that vacation!
