Project Life Tuesday: Weeks 2 & 3

Welcome to Project Life Tuesday 2013 If you are new to The Mom Creative, welcome. I hope you will stay awhile. I'm Jessica – wife to Matthew, mom to Elias, a silly and spirited four-year-old, and Adeline, a spunky one-year-old. I'm also a marketing professional, savvy deal finder, photo lover and memory keeper trying to juggle it all.

Each Tuesday, I share my most recent spread as well as host a linky for readers to link up their pictures/layouts.

This weekend I made major headway on my album. I completed January and started February – yay! I bet I flipped through my album a dozen times. I just love Project Life.

I also stamped all my date cards through May while watching television with Matthew last night.

Today, I am going to share two weeks of pages because I think any more than that is too overwhelming for one blog post.

Week 2: January 6-12
Spread: Design F and Design B, plus 8 x 10 Horizontal

Why yes, that is Elias playing dress up with my bra. #awesome. What a way to start our year, yes? πŸ™‚

You'll notice another card from the school days kit – this time a self-portrait that Elias drew of himself. (see photo at the top of the post for a close-up)

Since I had so many photos on the left hand side, I decided to journal right on the date card. I also added a rub-on from my stash. The journaling card in the bottom row is from a past Project Life kit.

The “Packer Backer” text are glitter thickersΒ  – my favorites.

I love this big photo of Adeline. I have a feeling it will forever be one of my favorite photos of her. The sticker is an old Love, Elsie sticker. I really like how the Design B page came together. The horizontal Project Life cards make my heart SO happy. I also used a half card on the second row.

Week 3: January 13-19
Design B and Design A, plus a Design I insert

To jazz up these pages, I used a ton of Little Yellow Bicycle stickers that I have had in my stash for a few years. They make the spread look totally different from the rest of the album, but I don't care. I love it!

The left page is all photos taken from our Bloom book club shoot on January 19. I know that makes the spread a bit backward, but that's okay. It just worked better with the photos that I had to set up the spread that way. I did all the journaling on one vertical grid card and added a sticker across the bottom. (Pictured: Angie, Robin, Julie, RoseAnne and Melissa.)

For the Design I (Instagram) insert, I did all the journaling for the insert of the top square. (I just cut a piece of cardstock to 4×4).

Here you can see the backside of the I insert + the Design A insert. For the last page, I did one journaling card for the whole page. I used number stickers to tie the journaling card sentences to the pictures (one of my favorite techniques). To unify the spread's design, I used a yellow bicycle sticker on the big journaling card.

Your turn to link up! Also, just a friendly reminder to please remember to link back to The Mom Creative in your posts. Thank you!

Your enlargements look great. And that photo of your daughter with her shopping bags is ADORABLE! That is a classic. Thanks again for always hosting. Such great motivation and inspiration.

I love horizontal 3×4 cards too, and wish they weren’t so hard to find! Nearly every printable or retail set is in portrait layout. Grrrrrr. If only I had some design talent…

All of Becky’s kits have both horizontal and vertical options.

I’m loving your pages so far! I, too, received the Seafoam kit and was thinking it needed some sprucing up. I love how you used those flower stickers, they look so pretty! I actually ordered the Olive Kit over the weekend so that I have other cards to choose from, too.

Yeah, I thought I would be able to use some of the Olive edition with the Seafoam, but the base is cream, not white, so I didn’t like how it looked together. Maybe you won’t be so picky! πŸ™‚

Oh, see, I didn’t realize that. πŸ™‚ I am picky, lol. I’ll have to alternate pages here and there then, maybe. Bummer.

I’m not sure it is stated anywhere that it is cream. Total bummer.

Great photos. Love that you still have Love, Elsie stuff – I’ve been hoarding mine for years, used up a lot last year and still have more to use!

Your pages look great! My sons play with my bras too sometimes but I’ve never photographed them. Perhaps I should. πŸ™‚

Would you be able to answer which page designs you use the most? I have design A in my Amazon cart, but curious if I should add another..??? This will be my first project life purchase!

The other page protectors I use the most are Design F, Design J and the 6x12s. Everyone is different though. πŸ™‚
