Affiliate Marketing Links & Recommendations

Affiliate marketing can be a great way to generate income from your blog. Below are a few links to help get you started (some links are affiliate links)!

Affiliate portals
Many affiliate programs are run through affiliate management companies. The main ones I use are listed below.

Specific affiliate programs
This is a list of a few of the affiliate programs I have found to perform well and be lucrative for my site, as well as other programs you may find helpful. Hopefully they will be useful for you too.

Email Newsletter/Feed
To distribute your blog feed + send custom newsletters, I recommend using MailChimp, AWeber or FeedBlitz.

Continuing Education
has been the single greatest investment I have made in learning about affiliates and treating blogging as a business – because if you make money, it is a business.

Thank you so much for this post! We are a fairly new blog and we have signed up for several affiliate programs, but we have signed up for a couple more based on your list!

Sorry I didn’t get a chance to connect with you at Alt Summit, but I’d love to pass along a note to say that Chronicle Books also has an affiliate program, and I’m always looking for new bloggers to partner with there. Details here: or email

Thank you so much for this information! I was familiar with a few of these but I love seeing many others.

This class was GOLDEN! So chalk full of info that I had never thought I’d be interested in. I didn’t think affiliates were for me until I attended and now I’m a convert. LOL. Thanks so much for inspiring (and for all the goodies to take home!).

I was listening to your talk at the Influence Conference last year. I was curious when you think it’s a good time for a blogger to start applying to affiliate networks like Commission Junction. I’m a new blogger and don’t get that many hits per day, and I’m wondering if should wait until I’m getting over 500 hits a day before I apply or just start applying now.

Hi there Ashley. Good question. I would go ahead and try applying for a few and see if you get accepted. Then you can get a sense for what would work for you and your content!

Just wanted to thank you for sharing your wisdom with us at Allume this year and for sharing this page. I’ve been doing more research and trying to implement your tips into my blog. I just signed up for Shutterfly, a company I LOVE! :)
