Hi Jessica -
I am a middle school English teacher (in addition to many other titles!), and my very first class of 8th graders is now graduating from high school. Needless to say, I’ve got many graduation open houses coming up, and I am clueless as to what gifts to get and give. I’d rather do something practical instead of creative, something that they’ll get a lot of use out of in their upcoming college years. Do you have any ideas to share? I’d be grateful!

I’d recommend Everything You Need to Know Before College by Matthew Paul Turner. Big fan of the author and the book is always a hit this time of year.
Otherwise, cool notebooks and pens are fun gifts, as are Target gift cards.

A little while ago I seem to remember you mentioning that you received a special letter (I think?) from the White House to commemorate Adeline’s birth. If so, do you know where I can find the link or would you please direct me on where to go? I’d like to check it out for my little guy before it’s too late to do it.
