If you are a regular reader here, you have probably noticed that I have been VERY quiet this past month, only writing half a dozen posts in the past 30 days.
The reason for this is I am on book deadline. I haven’t shared much about the book publicly yet, but I will soon enough. Between my full-time job and the book deadline (it’s due October 15), I have been working close to 60 hours a week. Any extra time has been spent at home with my family and being sure to take care of myself so I don’t get too burned out or sick.
Earlier this month I attended a writers retreat/girls trip with my (in)courage writer friends to Cancun, and it turned out to be the perfect break in the midst of a heavy working summer. I worked on my book every day I was there (I wrote for 3 hours every morning, getting up at 4:30 or 5 am each day), but also had plenty of down time to connect with friends and read. I read 4 books in 5 days! I’ll be writing more about the resort soon (it was my first trip to Cancun), and my time there.
Actually, I have SO many posts in draft for you, and I will get to a more regular posting schedule soon. Many just need a few photos or links and they will be ready. I recognized that I was letting y’all down by my sporadic content and I’ve hired a friend to help me get things back on track (don’t worry, I’ll still be doing the writing!)
Thank you for grace during this busy season. I have been thinking about each of you every day as I write, praying that my words will minister in personal and practical ways. I am so excited what the next year will bring.
