Something I didn’t expect about motherhood was how much fun it would be to dress my kids. I love all aspects of it – the little sizes, the timeless style (I try not to go too trendy), the creativity of putting together sweet outfits (especially for Adeline) their reactions to new clothes, etc. – it is all so fun.
A brand that I go back to again and again is Carters, which is why I was delighted to be invited to write a sponsored post about their fall kids’ fashions. They sent me a gift card to do a little shopping of their new fall trends, and I also have one to give to one of you (keep reading).
A Carter’s trend for girls are vintage patterns like ponies, puppies, floral – things girls love to wear. I had such a hard time picking out something for Adeline because I loved everything in the collection. I eventually landed on this dress because the design was so sweet. Paired with a pair of boots and a little lace headband and Adeline thought she was really something.
She kills me with that hand on her hip.
Another fall trend for girls includes Tomboy Chic, which is all about the mix and match – take something very athletic and give it a girly twist (e.g., sweatshirt paired with lace skirt). See my friend Kayla Aimee’s post with her daughter’s cute Tomboy Chic style.
Carter’s also is offering lots of the athletic wear for boys and girls, in bright colors and great designs.
One of this fall’s trends for boys and girls is camo. I love the classic style of this look with the dark camo. For Elias, I paired the shirt with some elastic-waisted khaki pants, which will also be perfect for the standard attire he has to wear in kindergarten this year! (How is it possible that he is going to kindergarten?!)
Another trend for boys are fresh plaids. I love boys in plaid and Carter’s styles are so classic. (I’m pinning for Carter’s this week and you can see some of their awesome plaid designs, as well as plaid projects on their Fresh Plaids board.)
My kids are still mostly in toddler sizes, although Elias is wearing more and more straight 5s instead of 5T. Thankfully, he’s far from growing out of Carter’s because they have recently expanded their sizing to 7-12.
Isn’t that awesome? I have already noticed that it is more difficult to find age-appropriate clothing for older kids. Carter’s is committed to classic, age-appropriate clothing and I already know that their quality is something I can count on. Hooray for expanded sizing! (If your local store doesn’t carry the expanded sizing, you can definitely find it online.)
Right now everything at Carter’s is 40% off (online and in stores) until August 5th. You may also use this 20% off coupon to sweeten the deal even more!
Also, as a girl who loves to save money, I would be remiss to not mention Carter’s customer loyalty program because it’s simple and amazing. For every $50 you spend (on anything in the store) you get a $10 credit to use on your next purchase. And it’s not like gymbucks, where you have to spend a certain amount (like $25 off of $50). You could literally walk back into the store and spend $9.99 and not pay a dime. Awesome, awesome, awesome. No joke, earlier this month, I bought 34 items for $237 (before tax), so I got $40 in rewards (had I realized what I was doing, I would have bought a few more things to get another $10!).
I then went back to Carter’s and stocked up on PJs and summer clothes for next year for the kids, and thanks to the $40 credit and the amazing sale going on right now, I paid next to nothing for a huge bags of clothes (items were as low at $2.99 a piece!).
Would you like a $50 gift card to use at Carter’s? I have one to giveaway to one lucky reader! HOORAY! Just use the rafflecopter below to enter.
