Works for Me Wednesday: The Coolest Machine

by jessicaturner on October 17, 2012

Now that I have been using my Maytag Bravos XL for a few months, I have learned a few more things about it.

I think it is hilarious that I am still intrigued by the washing machine. It is just SO different from any washing machine I have ever known.

When it is running I will literally go over and just pear in the clear cover to watch the wash washing. Sometimes it is spinning so fast I can’t see my clothes, other times it is spinning slowly, with water raining down on the clothes. It is an amazing machine.

I find it odd that it does not start with any water in it. Also, you pour the detergent into a little cup on the side of the machine, and then the machine mixes it with water and sprays the clothes with the detergent water mix.

I wanted to make a video showing you these features, but my filming was terrible. Here is one from Maytag that I found on YouTube

Must be nice to be as tall as that guy. Because I am so short (5’0″) I literally have to stand on my tip-tip toes to reach all my laundry in the washing machine. Once or twice I have called Matthew to grab a sock that I couldn’t reach. :)

That said, I continue to be so thankful for how big this machine is. I have stayed on top of laundry since August mostly because I can get 2-3 times more wash in the machine than I could with my previous machine.  The dryer also dries the clothes super fast, which is incredible considering how many clothes I get into a load.

The Maytag Bravos does require a bit more maintenance than a regular machine though. You have to put in a cleaning tablet every month or so to clean the machine and prevent/rid your machine of a mildewy smell. But that maintenance is worth it for all the laundry I am getting done.

The Maytag Bravos XL works for me! (Linking up with Kristen for Works for Me Wednesday) And great news, you enter to win a Bravos XL set via Maytag’s Facebook page here. Wouldn’t that be cool if a Mom Creative reader won? :)

I wrote this post participating in an Maytag Moms Dependable Laundry Ambassador program by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Maytag. I was provided with the Maytag washer and dryer set to facilitate my post. You can follow Maytag on Twitter or Facebook.

Oh goodness, I need me one of these! I have been mourning and lamenting our laundry for almost a year, our washer and dryer in our rental stink :0( Praying it breaks so we have to get a new one, lol. Wish I could be a maytag mom! 😀

These would be amazing to have. My life would be so much easier when it came to laundry. Maybe someday…
