Project Life Tuesday

The Mom Creative
Welcome to Project Life Tuesday 2012! If you are new to The Mom Creative, welcome. I hope you will stay awhile. I’m Jessica – wife to Matthew, mom to Elias, a silly and spirited almost four-year-old, and Adeline, a spunky one-year-old. I’m also a marketing professional, savvy deal finder, photo lover and memory keeper trying to juggle it all.

I started Project Life Tuesday in 2010 because:

  • I needed to keep myself accountable and on top of my photos each week.
  • My family loved being able to count on a weekly post with pics of the kids.
  • I thought others might want to keep themselves accountable too.

It was a huge blessing and so I am excited to be kicking off my third year of this series.

Each Tuesday, I will share my spread from the previous week, as well as host a linky for readers to link up their pictures/layouts. This year, Epson is sponsoring Project Life Tuesday, and they provided me with their Epson Stylus R2880 Large Format Photo Printer (C11CA16201) for many of my album’s photos. Printing photos at home is hopefully going to help keep me on track!

Like I said yesterday, I didn’t work on Project Life this weekend. I was too busy with Adeline’s party, chores and starting a photo book for her. Last night I had big aspirations of getting caught up.

But my migraine won.  I did get my photos printed, but then went to bed in a migraine haze.

I tried desperately to get something done this morning before work, but it just didn’t happen. Adeline woke up with a raging ear infection and things were too chaotic.

Here’s where I am at: Right now I have June 10-16 and June 17-23 almost complete – photos and journaling cards all in. The pages just need WORDS. I should easily be able to get them done tomorrow (along with the million other things I plan to do on my day off – lol).

I feel like I am letting y’all down. I’m sorry.

Life just has been a bigger priority than Project Life – and that is a good thing. :)

I promise to have lots to show you next week.

Since we have six months to go on Project Life, I thought a few inspiration links might be helpful (especially since I don’t have any layouts this week!)

100 Bits of Life for Project Life – have you looked at this list lately? Lots of great ideas for “extra bits” to add to your album. This coming week I put in a note Matthew wrote to Elias + my old license.

My Project Life Inspiration Pinterest Board

My Project Life Products Pinterest Board: This board has links to all my favorite page protectors and Project Life products. I add to it every week

Summer calendar – I just stumbled on this and plan to print it out and insert it into my album. LOVE it.

These page protectors
– mine should be here today and I am so excited to incorporate more 4×12 photos in my album!

Thank you for grace. For those of you that are on the ball, link up below!

Don’t feel bad – I was three, no, four, weeks behind. I just finished the week of June 4th, which ended up being like six pages long because we had so much going on that week. I have my pictures in my pages up to last week and I’m just missing the stories (just like you!) but I am not fretting about it. I figure if I wasn’t doing PL I would be even further behind than that (like months) because that was how I used to be – I would only scrapbook on retreats (once or twice a year) and then I only hit the high points. Don’t beat yourself up, just do what you can and make sure you enjoy it while you do! :-)

Exactly. I know without Project Life Tuesday I would be soooo behind. :)

you are so right jessica– sometimes life takes priority over Project Life. Summer can tend to be that way! we are in the middle of a move right now, so i totally understand. thx for always being a great motivator!!

I have so enjoyed linking my pages with your blog. It’s all about preserving memories as we live life and sometimes life wins out! This year I’m doing more of a weekly theme/event/idea and I feel new freedom doing this differently. I’m taking journaling from my blog at times and that frees me up, too. These are the albums my kids look at and I found myself wandering through them as I photographed some earlier pages. Next week I’m going to show some of my pages from 2009 (when the B. Higgins kit sold out and I made my own) and show how my family has changed. It’s all about perspective. Keep up the good work!

I have fallen behind this summer, too, and I’m trying not to stress over it. We are so much busier (in a good way) in the summer, and I’d much rather spend my evenings outside with my kids than indoors working on PL. I am giving myself permission to fall a month or so behind and know that I’ll get caught up in the fall. We all understand!

Please don’t feel bad about not being ready for a post. We all get behind sometimes. I’m a week behind right now. It’s ok. Project Life should be about simply capturing memories so that you can live your life and not spend time worrying about layouts (even though I fail at keeping it simple, big time). You should have been enjoying this past weekend, not worrying about posting today. I think people are happy you run the link party each week, which gives everyone a place to get inspiration, and no one is going to fault you for not being perfectly on time with all of your own layouts. You’re awesome, don’t forget that!

Sorry for the migraine, those can be pretty bad. Take care of yourself and your family, that always comes first. You are doing an amazing job at keeping up, don’t even worry about it.

Don’t feel like you are letting us down! You’ve been doing important things and nurturing PEOPLE! The scrapbooking (and we) will wait until you have a bit of a breather, just keep taking the pictures and jotting notes so you don’t lose the stories. Don’t get frustrated, you are doing the best you can.

I think we’ve all be behind so no worries, better to live life than for project life to be your life :) I didn’t post last week, just couldn’t get my pictures taken and edited before heading out the door for vacation. No biggie, just put up two weeks this time around. It’s all good, don’t stress!
