Looking Forward to the Weekend and Other Random Thoughts

by jessicaturner on April 13, 2012

I am TGIFing in a major big way today.

I have big plans for this weekend.

We are taking Elias to the Vanderbilt baseball game on Saturday. He is so excited to see “big guys” play baseball, though he doesn’t quite understand why he can’t play too.

The weather has been so beautiful in Nashville. Elias is loving being outside every day. He loves sitting on our deck and blowing bubbles during the day, and going on it at night to look at the stars. He recently learned all the planets and I will say to him, I love you more than Jupiter and he replies, I love you more than Uranus! HILARIOUS.

Sunday I have a Chimpsy photography class in the late morning. I have never taken a formal photography class and am excited to learn some new tips.

I am also planning to get caught up on laundry (Oxiclean just sent me a big box of cleaning supplies that I am sure I will be putting to good use). What is it with laundry? It is never ending and we only have four in our house!

And then of course there is Project Life. I REALLY think I can get caught up this weekend. I have loaded most of my photos to my hard drive and started sorting. (My photo organization process is really simple. I have a Project Life 2012 folder on my drive, then within that folder I make a folder for each week).

Other things in my head:

Annie, Angie and I are knee-deep in planning for our Nashville (in)RL gathering. If you live in or near Nashville, I hope you will join us. There is going to be food, TONS of giveaways (literally hundreds of dollars in DaySpring gifts), live worship music and some incredible videos. I’m especially excited because my mom, aunt and sister will be in town and are planning to join in the fun! And if you aren’t in Nashville, check out the meet-up map for a meet-up in your location.

Speaking of DaySpring, did you order your Ever Grateful Pitchers yet? DaySpring emailed me yesterday that they have been blown away by the response to the sale and that the pitchers have been flying off their shelves. You definitely want to take advantage of this sale today before they sell out. I still can’t get over that you can get 7 pitchers for less than the cost of two! (More details here).

Today starts week three of Weight Watchers for me (I’m doing it online). I have already lost five pounds (YEOW) and really feel like I am in a grove with the diet. I now need to add some activity in, which I know is going to be a challenge because a) I hate exercise and b)it is so hard to find the time. We are going to Hilton Head Island in a few weeks and I am trying to get ready to put on a bathing suit. (ResortQuest by Wyndham Vacation Rentals is providing our Hilton Head accommodations and I am SO darn excited! We have never taken a beach vacation! I will definitely be looking for your advice as we really start preparing for the trip. Right now though I am all about the bathing suit – ha!).

I will be drawing the first monthly winner of the $75 Paper Coterie gift card on Sunday, so be sure your name is entered. All you have to do to enter is subscribe to this blog using the little subscribe box at the bottom of this post. Easy! All current subscribers are automatically entered.

Whew! What’s going on in your world right now?

Jessica, where did you get that bubble blower? What brand is it? I cannot, for the life of me, find a good one! All the ones I have are duds! At least in the picture it looks like it works really well! Thanks!!

I believe my mom got it at Walgreens. We have found several great bubble blowers there!

Oh, what fun! I’m currently relaxing in the Canary Islands, before picking up the keys to our very first home (owned) on Thursday, then moving in! Fun times.

Hello Jessica! I just wanted to let you know that my husband and I used to live in Savannah GA, I actually grew up there, which is where I met my husband :) Anyways, Hilton Head beach is beautiful, we also lived in Bluffton SC for a while after we got married which is about 20 min away from the beach. It is a very beautiful place to visit. If you and your family get the time, visit Downtown Savannah there is a place called river street sweets that you would probably love!! they have other cool shops to visit as well with hand made jewelry and other items, kid friendly btw. Have fun on your trip!!!

Hilton Head is awesome! We have family there and love to visit… On the swimsuit front. Lands End has some awesome choices that are cute, stylish and somewhat modest. They are pricey but in the words of my husband “it’s an investment in your happiness”

Pondering going to the Nashville meet-up although I’m a couple of hours away. I might be able to get out for an evening. What is the cost? I couldn’t find it anywhere… Thanks!!
