This weekend, my parents visited.
Matthew captured this photo.
I love it.
Three generations of strong women.
It has been so nice to have my mom here. She helped me organize closets and do that big kids’ clothing transition from fall/winter to spring/summer (it took hours!).
She folded lots of socks (because I HATE folding socks and avoid it until it is absolutely necessary).
She made monster puppets and drew chalk rainbows with Elias.
She fed Adeline and made her giggle.
She helped make dinner and then clean up all the dirty dishes.
She read countless stories to Elias, then listened to mine and gave her two cents.
I couldn’t help but think about how this has been the story of generations. Women who have done it before, coming along women who are doing it now.
Motherhood is such a gift, isn’t it?
