Getting Rid of Stretch Marks

by jessicaturner on August 19, 2011

With each of my pregnancies I dealt with stretch marks. They faded over time and as I lost weight after having Elias, but they reared their uly heads again this time around.

Therefore, I was delighted when I received a Mustela Stretch Mark Survival Set ($39.00) to review in my seventh month of pregnancy.

The set contains Stretch Marks Intensive Action and Ultimate Hydration lotions. Acording to the pitch I received, “together, these products work to reduce the size, depth, and color of stretch marks, while keeping skin moisturized and in optimal condition during pregnancy.”

I must say that I love this stuff. It smells awesome, helped my itchy tummy during pregnancy and did seem to help with my stretch marks. I have noticed that just seven weeks after having Adeline my stretch marks have already faded a great deall. I am not one to spend a lot of money on beauty products, but I think the $39 price tag is probably worth it! The only down side is that this set is only available at Nordstrums.I wish you could buy it online.

Did you get stretch marks with your pregnancy? What did you do to help minimize/eliminate them?

Disclosure: I received this set at no cost to review. All thoughts are my own.

With each pregnancy, I seemed to get a few more stretch marks. I didn’t get many. Most were very low on my stomach. I used expensive lotion for the first baby, but nothing for the second two.
I found that the lotion helped the itching, but realized that I didn’t need the expensive stuff. Less expensive lotion worked just as well. As far as healing and lightening? Time took care of that and there was no difference between the healing of the ones I got with the pregnancy that I used expensive lotion for and the ones that I didn’t. They were dark when I first got them, but they all faded. They are still there, but not nearly as noticeable.

I definitely got them in pregnancy and had some from weight gain already.
I have done absolutely nothing to eliminate them;). I have so many scars like ones from a spinal fusion and where a big birthmark was removed. So I figured it was fitting for my daughter to leave her mark on me as well;)

2 babies. 2 sets of stretch marks. 2 decades later, and I’ve still got the stretch marks. My husband calls them my badge of honor. Love that man!
