Isn’t it funny how different you are the second time around when it comes to preparing for the baby’s arrival?
With Elias, I obsessed for months about his bedding and nursery furniture.
With Adeline, she is going to sleep in the pack-n-play in our room for a few months since our condo will be on the market and we don’t think it makes sense to change Elias’s room to accommodate two beds, etc. (Hopefully, our condo will sell quickly and this won’t really matter).
With Elias, I spent hours researching the best baby products and preparing a detailed baby registry.
With Adeline, I just walked into Target and Babies R Us, got a scan gun, and just walked around, scanning whatever I thought we needed – along with a lot of pink clothes and ruffled bloomers.
With Elias, I didn’t know how much I would love having handmade items and his name on things, so didn’t have many things embroidered.
With Adeline, I can’t sew enough girly burpers and get lost for hours on Etsy. I am also planning to learn how to sew cute dresses, thanks to my sweet friend Angie giving me lessons.
With Elias, I read pregnancy books all the time.
With Adeline, I think I have opened What to Expect about four times- and not until about three weeks ago.
The one thing I know – with BOTH- I could never anticipate how much my heart could love. I can’t wait to have Adeline in my arms.
