Project Life: My Album and Tips

by jessicaturner on February 19, 2010

I know I have been promising this post for a while, but life has been so busy! This weekend I had the opportunity to get mostly caught up on my journaling cards, and I am delighted to share my album.

Project Life – My Way
Check out this video to see my Project Life album and hear some details about how I am putting my album together.

Thanks to Project Life Tuesday, I have been able to keep up with my journaling and photos online, so getting everything into my album was a snap!

I am doing a few things differently this year than I did last year:

  • Using the date stamp (that came with the kit) on my journaling cards – I really think the date stamp adds a lot to the cards. I am using midnight blue staz on ink.
  • Adding page protectors – I am incorporating 8.5×11 page protectors with added memorabilia on weeks when I want to add a little extra. I love working in Elias’s art projects, sheets from day care, stuff from Matthew’s Africa trip, etc. Last year I did very little of this and I think this addition really adds to the album. These added pages are probably where I will use most of the extra 12×12 papers that came with the kit.

I have seen several people using corner rounders on all their photos so that they match the journaling cards provided with the kit. I love how that looks, but honestly, it is just one more thing for me to do, so I am just inserting my photos as is, straight from the developer.

Check These Out

My way is certainly not the only way. I have seen a couple great examples that I wanted to share with you.

Erin’s take: Erin is using Project Life to chronicle each of her girls’ stories. So rather than doing a photo a day, her spreads are themes like school, the pumpkin patch, winter, etc. I love, love, love her album. Check it out.

Jade’s take: Jade is making great use of those 12×12 pages. I love her album so far. Check it out.

Ali’s take: Of course, there’s always the incomparable Ali Edwards. Her album is amazing – and would take me far too much time. But, if you want to be inspired, be sure to check it out.

How are you doing your album? Please share your way in the comments – and feel free to link to your blog too!
