My mom’s brain surgery is tomorrow at 8 am. I leave for WI at 4 pm today. We will spend the night as a family, which will be good.
I have very much been at peace about the surgery. I know God will take care of my Mom.
However, the fact that the day is finally almost here has my stomach a bit nervous today.
You know the feeling I’m talking about, don’t you?
I’m doing my best to ignore it as I try to get ready for the trip. I have to leave for work in an hour and a half and I still am packing, folding laundry, etc. Since it will be rush, rush when I get back to town, I am trying to have as much prepared for our Thanksgiving trip as possible. I’ve also written a list of things for Matthew to do while I am gone.
A friend sent me this verse yesterday and it has brought me much hope and peace.
Deut. 31:8 (amplified version)
“It is the Lord Who goes before you; He will [march] with you; He will not fail you or let you go or forsake you; [let there be no cowardice or flinching, but] fear not, neither become broken [in spirit–depressed, dismayed, and unnerved with alarm].”
The Lord will not fail me or forsake me.
The Lord will not fail my mom or forsake her.
The Lord will not fail my family or forsake them.
Be checking my blog and Twitter tomorrow for updates. The hospital has wi-fi, so I will do my best to update as often as possible. If you don’t already follow this blog, go ahead and do that too. Then you will know when I update!
Peace be with you today. Thank you for your prayers. My family and I are so thankful.
