A Few Prayers Needed

by jessicaturner on July 15, 2009

I wanted to share a few prayer requests.

  • Elias goes in to have tubes put in tomorrow at 6 am. The procedure takes about 5 minutes, but we have to be there more than an hour early for check in and prep. He can’t eat or drink anything after midnight and then not until noon. We are NOT going to have a happy baby. Please pray for steady hands for the doctor, that the tubes are effective for Elias and that he doesn’t get too fussy without food.
  • Sara (“Gitz”), a friend and long-time blog reader, has been really sick. Please click here to read her latest update and leave an encouraging comment. I know it will mean a lot to her. But more importantly, pray for mercy and relief from her constant prayer.
  • Kate McRae is a little girl who has a malignant tumor in her brain and is fighting an incredible battle.

With so much prayer needed for so many, I can only find comfort in the words “Be still, and know that I am God.”

How can I pray for you?

I'll be praying and I've had so many sets of tubes when I was younger and it's nothing. I know Elias will be just fine :)

I noticed in some of your tweets about Elias's tubes. I will be praying!

I've been following Kate's story, what an incredible journey God has called them too. I am praying for them! My daughter is about her age, so I can only imagine…

I've read Sarah's blog a few times. I will pray for her today!

Thank you for making us all aware.

Praying for Elias surgery.. My daughter has had 4 sets of tubes.. Just pick him up right out of bed in the morning in his pjs..and you might be surprised at how well he does.. My daughter got her first set the day after her first birthday. But I had a bottle of milk and juice ready for right after the surgery and she drank them both! She also started walking the next day…

Praying for peace for you and your husband…

I will be praying, thank you for sharing.

If you don't mind I would love to ask for you to pray for Baby Brennen, he has a congenital heart defect and had heart surgery this morning. It has been a long road for him so far, he is only 5 months old, and he has a LONG recovery ahead of him. We will not know until tomorrow if the surgery was a complete success so please PRAY fo Brennen, our family needs all the prayers we can get. THANK YOU!!!!!

Thank you for asking us to pray and in a way reminding us what's really important. I'll be definitely praying, for Elias, for your friend and for Kate.

My sister and I both got tubes in our ears when we were pretty young. It's great that Elias is getting them now rather than have lots of ear infections later on. Such a minor procedure so I know he'll do really well.

I will definitely say a pray for him (and for you, because even though it's minor I know as his mom it has to be hard on you).

I'm going to leave a comment for your friend now.

And I've seen so many people post about sweet Kate. Praying for her, too.

Definitely praying for Elias, you & Matthew & the Doctor(s).
My nephew has had several sets of tubes, so I know what you are going through. They are a good thing though.

Just saw about Elias's tubes. He will be fine. I wish I had known last night … I had 3 sets as a child and my 6 year old is on her 2nd set.

Other than the anethesia, he should be fine. Parker was always very aggitated by it.

I will be remembering Elias in prayer. That can be such a scary thing!

I'll have to head over to the other blog and check out her prayer request.

Constantly praying for Sweet little Kate.

Please pray for safe travels on the 28th and 29th and that God's light would shine though me so brightly that there would be no mistaking him.
