Migraines, Migraines, Migraines

by jessicaturner on May 31, 2009

Sorry I haven’t blogged much in the past few days. I have been having a lot of migraines, which is frustrating since it is so nice outside (my migraines are usually impacted by crummy rainy/snowy, front-type weather).

Here’s an old layout expressing how I am feeling right now.

I went to bed at 8:30 last night and got up at 7:15 (just like Elias). He is napping right now.

I’m going to too. Maybe we both will feel more energized and go to church. But maybe not…

I promise I will have some good posts this week, so come back soon, okay?

i read your blog often and thank you for all you say.i am near Knoxville so we are practically neighbors. I am a sister in Christ as well. I wanted to let you know that I have really been hit hard by the old “devil of a headache” too. I have had 3 in the last 4 days and I have to say—yep “it sucks”. i am on a preventive(an anticonvulsant)and an abortive (Axert) for when I get one..gotta say not working to well right now. Hope we are both better soon! I will say a prayer for you

Have you sought treatment for your migraines? There are many good preventive medicines out there that you can take daily. Also, many that will stop a migraine within a half hour. Imitrex, Maxlat, Relpax…All of these have worked for me and stop a migraine within 20-30 minutes. I also take Depakote ER (an anti-seizure drug) daily to prevent them. It has really helped. When one does break through I take a Maxalt or a pain killer (Esgic Plus). If you are not nursing any more, I encourage you to see your doctor about these headaches. I just hate to see anybody suffering from headaches, especially somebody who has such a precious baby boy to enjoy. Prayers for you….

I too suffer from Migraines, for almost 4 yrs, I rarely got out of bed. I did try a chiropractor, but insurance only pays for so many a year and it was too expensive.

What worked for me is taking topamax 50 mg daily. Today I rarely have a migraine…..more sinus headaches from allergies usually.

When I do get a migraine, I take the new Imitrex pill with naproxen sodium in it, called Treximet.

God Bless you and I hope this info helps :)
