There are so many things going on on the Internet right now – ways to help people, ways to save money and earn free stuff, fun contests, great products… Today I am just going to do a quick post of some giveaways/causes I think are worth sharing.
- My Peanut and I Fly Southwest: If you haven’t posted one of the Peanut buttons on your blog and entered to win four free tickets from Southwest, what are you waiting for? The contest ends one week from today. Go get a button for your blog here.
- The Design Girl Blog Makeover Giveaway: Danielle, who is an incredibly talented blog and paper product designer (she designed my header!) is doing a blog raffle to help raise money for formula for orphanages in China. For just $5 you can be entered to win a blog makeover, worth more than $100! It ends Monday, so check it out right away. All money goes toward this worthy cause. I love Danielle’s heart and generous spirit.
- Ellie’s Run for Africa: Ellie’s Run for Africa is a 5K race that raises funds primarily for educational efforts in the Kibera slum of Nairobi, Kenya. What’s unique about this race is that it was started by Ellie Ambrose, who was 10-years-old when she hosted the first Ellie’s Run. She is now a high school freshman and has raised $155,000 through the event. This summer, Ellie and a dedicated team of volunteers, including my close friend Kristen, are planning a trip to Africa this summer to visit the children and attend the opening of a new vocational school in the community which Ellie’s Run helped fund. This year’s run is June 13th at Percy Warner Park in Nashville. It is a family event with a 5K race and 1-mile kids fun run, plus tons of games and cultural events. Check it out.
