Giveaway Thursday: The Design Girl Stationery

by jessicaturner on May 28, 2009

I have been blessed that since starting this blog, companies will sometimes contact me offering me a product or service to try. If I like the product and I feel like it fits within the confines of things that I blog about, I will share my thoughts here. Oftentimes I will have the opportunity to bless one (or several) of you with a giveaway too. I love doing giveaways because it is a way for me to give back to YOU – the kind readers that come back here and have created such a sweet community. So, I am going to try to start doing my review/giveaway posts on Thursdays. These posts will be called Giveaway Thursday.

If reading a review/entering a giveaway is not your thing, then just ignore these posts. I won’t mind. (Of course, this won’t stop me from occasionally talking about other stuff that I love on other days, but you can count on Thursdays being giveaway days. Sound good?)

On to today’s giveaway…

Elias’s first birthday party is one month from today! When I blogged about planning Elias’s party, sweet Danielle (aka “The Design Girl”) contacted me and offered to design Elias’s invitations. And wow, did she do a great job. Check it out.
This design is a custom design because I bought the dragon graphic online (the theme is going to be built around that character and the blue, orange and green colors).

What I love about Danielle is that she is so easy to work with and so darn talented. With me working in marketing, I can be a bit particular about how things look, but she totally just goes with the flow.

In addition to being a fabulous blog designer, she has expanded her services to stationery and print design. For the inaugural Giveaway Thursday she is graciously offering a $25 credit on any print design. (Her stationery line is $25- for more pricing info click here) I love the children’s line!

The folks at PrintPlace offered to print the invitations for me, and I am so excited to see how they turned out. They should be arriving today – they got them done and shipped to me in less than a week, which is crazy fast. So, if you need a small print run and/or something done fast, check them out! You can also follow them on Twitter.

Several of you recommended going with an independent designer and an online printer, and I am so glad I did. It relieved a lot of stress for me.

I am hoping to get everything addressed and mailed by Saturday. Then I can turn my attention to the other details. I know it is going to be here before I know it!

Leave a comment about what type of stationery you would have Danielle design for you and I will select a winner Friday morning!

Good luck!

Update: The invitations did arrive and they look great – YIPPEE!

I would probably pick the same thing you are- birthday invites for my daughter’s birthday in December! I too am a December baby, so I know how it is to have a birthday so close to Christmas. I hope to make every year a special celebration for her! Thanks for the amazing giveaway!!!

I am so excited for this Giveaway Thursdays! Danielle is so very talented — I am so glad she started a stationary line — simple and cute.

I would probably go with the Monogramed and or Business Cards! Can’t wait to see what she has coming in that area. All in all she is using her talent to bless others!

Oooo, my preschooler is turning 4 in August and for the last 6 months he has talked about nothing other than the “John Deere” cake he is going to have. He is obsessed with tractors and all things farm related. And I am planning on some kind of a farm/John Deere party theme – so personalized invitations would be perfection!

I love stationery! I’d see if Design Girl could help me with some thank you masculine postcards. I find the males in my family are far more likely to fill out a small postcard than a very intimidating thank you card. I guess all that blank space is scary. :)

My daughter is turning one in August and I am working on planning her big day right now and have not come across any invitations I am excited about. I would LOVE custom invites for her party since she will be meeting a lot of my husband’s side of the family for the first time that day. Plus we just found out we are expecting again in December (on the 26th actually) so I may have to see about birth announcements too!! :)

Thanks for this awesome giveaway opportunity!!

WOW. I don’t know if I could pick a fav from her designs- they’re all so cute! But if I had known about this a bit sooner, I would have totally used the design girl to do my grad announcements. I actually ended up designing my own with photoshop and what little design capabilities I have, but I’m sure her design would have been a thousand times better!

So many amazing people have followed me through this battle with endometrial carcinoma. I am finally (after many, many insurance related delays) scheduled for surgery this coming month. I would dearly love to create a beautiful card to send out to all of the people who have supported myself and my husband through this- especially my church family, without whom this surgery would literally not be happening; when my husband was laid off we lost our health coverage with one day’s notice, and the church had a benefit for us and the premiums are now paid until the end of the year.

I can’t believe Elias is ONE, almost! It truly does seem like just yesterday that I found your blog from Angie’s, and she was giving us video updates about the delivery. And then seeing those wonderful, special first hours and days as you and M. transitioned into a family before our very eyes…what a privilege for us to be able to share in something so incredibly special.

So proud of how you’ve grown in the past year…simply from an “outside looking in” perspective, I can see that you have advanced in so many ways…creatively, as a writer and an artist, as a spouse- I see you really blossoming into the role of “partner”, and in too many other ways to list.

In closing…pick me, pick me! 😉

I would probably have her design a monogrammed set for me. I got married two years ago and would love to have a set with my “new” initials, but as it goes with most newlyweds– can’t afford them right now! :) Patience is a virtue!

I love Elias’ invitations. How precious! :)
