Letter to Elias at Nine Months

by jessicaturner on April 14, 2009

My darling son,

You turned nine months old on Easter Sunday. We had a wonderful day together with my family. We went to the church where Uncle Danny and Auntie will be getting married next fall. You are going to be the ring bearer and I can’t even believe that you will be old enough to walk down that aisle! Papa held you through most of the service and you fell asleep toward the end after you had a bottle. You were good as gold in church.

You are growing and changing every day. I love it and I hate it. Last week you learned to clap. You pretty much think you are the coolest thing ever when you do it. This is probably partly due to the fact that we get really excited and make a big deal about it.

Most nights you go to bed between 8:00-9:00 and sleep until 5:30-6:15. I love mornings with you because you are so cuddly.

You are a great eater. Your favorite foods are fruits – especially frozen mangos, which you suck on in these little snack sacks. You haven’t seemed too interested in finger foods yet, but I have a feeling you will pretty soon. Nana gave you a baby pickle to suck on this weekend and you loved it – just like mommy did when she was your age. You always eat all your food and get a little mad sometimes when it is all gone. However, we give you the spoon to play with after we feed you and that makes you happy.

You continue to bring us incredible joy every day. We love you so much.

I agree, what a beautiful letter. A cute way to document where your little guy is at at this age. This is such a sweet time.

BTW-my little guy turned 9 months on Easter as well!

This is precious. What a wonderful thing for Elias to have when he gets older! :)

I can’t believe how big Elias is getting.

My baby girl turns 17 today! It’s flown by so fast. Continue treasuring every moment and recording memories. Unfortunately you do forget so much as time goes by if you don’t write it down. My daughter found a list I had made of really cute things she used to say the other day and got a big kick out of it. Kids really treasure those words we say to them, and especially the written word they can go back and look at and hold in their hearts as truth about how much we treasure them. And they love the things we record about them too.

Elias will treasure all the memories you are preserving for him.

What a lucky little man. How cool it would be to have a letter from my mom at 9 months.

You guys need to have about 10 more babies because I’m convinced they would all be as cute as Elias.

Love the letter. It’s something he’ll always treasure later on in life.
