My mom went to beauty school and hair and appearance was always very important in our family. I remember my mom actually showing my dad how to curl our bangs, holding the comb under the curling iron so not to burn our heads, for the mornings that he had to get us ready for school because she had to work. I also recall a few stories of daddy letting us dress ourselves and us going somewhere in public not quite matching.
Well it turns out I married someone like my daddy.
Last night Matthew took care of Elias while I went to bible study. When I got home, I scooped Elias out of his crib in hopes of getting him to nurse. I looked down at my sweet sleeping son and immediately laughed at his puppy top and dinosaur pants. I carried him into the living room and said this is tomorrow’s picture. Here’s the peanut, smiling after he had been awake all of three minutes. Such a ham.
Do you have any stories of daddies dressing your kids – or you?
