Shopping Online for Bargains

by jessicaturner on March 15, 2009

You may remember that one of my New Year’s Resolutions was to become a better steward of our finances by finding additional ways to save money each month. One way I have done this is by clipping coupons more and saving big by coupling them with things like register rewards at Walgreens. For instance, this past week I got three packs of Huggies diapers at Walgreens for $11! I saved $19 by combining a $10 register reward and three $3 off coupons. As much I love Pampers, I will use Huggies for a $7 price difference! (I was pretty proud of myself!)

I also shop for items online -I have found that even with shipping a lot of times you can get better deals than you can in stores. I have a separate email address that I just use for signing up for mailing lists, coupons, etc. I check it two or three times a day, delete the junk and read the stuff that I find interesting.

Here are a few online baby deals that I thought you may find interesting:
The Bumble Collection Outlet Sale: The Bumble Collection are high-end diaper bags that are amazing! If you are looking for a quality diaper bag that will last you through several babies – and into their childhood, this is a great brand to check out. A lot of celebrities use their diaper bags. I recently received their Natalie bag, which is specifically designed for travel (it is extra large) and I am excited to try it out for my next trip. Plus, it is so pretty, it doesn’t even look like a diaper bag.

BabySteals.com: This site offers one deal a day. The products are often 50% or more off and they usually sell out fast. Be sure to sign-up for their email list so you are notified as soon as the new deal is posted. They also are active on facebook and twitter.

BabyCheapskate.com: This blog lists all the best sales on baby stuff online. I go to it every day! I especially love their weekly post on the best diaper and formula deals. It is much easier than trying to go through all the store ads on Sundays.

What deal websites do you love? How do you save money on baby items?

Don’t forget to come back tomorrow for my first Lucky Week giveaway – it is a good one!

Jessica, I was just recently introduced to http://www.pinchingyourpennies.com/through http://kaysvillemomma.blogspot.com/ It’s pretty cool, you can look up the stores in your area and it will list the items that are on sale. Check it out and maybe you can find some good coupons also. I’m always looking for bargains! Can’t wait to see what other sites your commentors like. Thanks for letting me stop by. :o)

My nieces Mum does what you do – saves coupons, enters mailing lists and many competitions.I introduced her to Swagbucks the other day and she has nearly saved up enough to buy my niece a new high-chair. It’s brilliant! X.

I’ve just recently gotten into the on-line coupons. Here is a blog I follow that shares coupons and sales called Freebies 4 Mom, http://freebies4mom.blogspot.com/ . I also came across another site, but haven’t spent much time on it called The Grocery Game (http://www.thegrocerygame.com/). Supposedly it helps you match up your coupons with in-store coupons and sales and specials on those products you have coupons for.

Jessica, I have no idea how you manage to fit all the things you do into each day!! In Australia I find there are less ways to get insane bargains. I’m a little reluctant to join any websites for discounts, etc. because I don’t want to receive heaps of junk. Mostly I save by shopping around and buying only what we need.

In Canada, I go to save.ca to get coupons (but I think there is a US site save.com) You can request a variety of coupons, including diapers.

http://freebieblogger.com posts lots of FREE things and coupons every day. Lots of it is stuff I’m not interested in, but occasionally I find a treasure – like an awesome diapers coupon or something.

I like this website: http://www.beingfrugalisfabulous.com/

She does the hard work of looking through the paper and coupons on Sunday and letting you know of the best deals. She also posts other fun deals during the week.

P.S. I had the strangest dream and you were in it. (Don’t judge me) I entered a contest online and they said the only way I could win was if I got you and Elias to come to my daughter’s first birthday party and you came. SO weird. I am not a stalker or anything, I don’t normally dream about people I don’t know. I do happen to think Elias is a cutie though and him and my daughter would have gorgeous children so maybe that was in my sub-conscious thoughts that evening. :)

Hey Jessica, I know awhile back you were debating between two carseat brands for Elias. I don’t know if you’ve already decided but Traveling Tikes has Britax Marathons on sale right now and they always have FREE shipping!
