She’s Engaged!!

by jessicaturner on February 15, 2009

My sister is engaged!! We simply adore her fiance Dan and couldn’t be happier.

As I think I mentioned, my family is visiting us this weekend to celebrate Christmas – I know, I know, it is Valentines. It is the first weekend that worked out for us to get together. Well Dan decided Thursday night that he wanted to propose this weekend so that Matthew and I could be a part of it. How sweet is that!? My parents knew that he was going to propose, but they didn’t tell Matthew and me – mostly because Dan knew I would have a “glow” until he did it. lol.

Anyway, we were all done opening Christmas/Valentines gifts when he said, I have one more gift for you to my sister. Close your eyes. She was totally not expecting it, but when I saw him reach into his backpack, I was like, oh my gosh, he is going to propose and I am at a horrible angle to take pictures. :) Here are a few good ones that I did capture.

The wedding will be in September 2010. We need to start saving, as I am the matron of honor, Matthew is a groomsmen and Elias will be the cutest ring bearer ever!!

My sister is already planning the wedding and asking my advice. I totally think I could have been a wedding planner, so I am happy to help. We are going to have so much fun.

I am over the moon happy for the two of them and so glad that Dan will forever be a part of our family. We couldn’t have asked for a better man for my baby sister.

So fun! Congrats to them! And how fun that you could be there! My husband arranged it so that we had photos taken while he proposed to me, and I am so happy he thought of it. Good job!

First, OH MY GOSH how completely exciting.

Second… those are shots you could have convinced me a professional took. They were wearing the perfect color sweaters, great focus, light and cropping.

Third, how glad are you that you had the cool lens rented?!?

Fourth: E. in a tux. mmm-hmmm.

off topic: but the photo of their hands makes me feel like I should do sit ups. Or never have anyone photograph me like that since I wouldn’t look as good :)

I saw these pictures first on Facebook and thought they were stunning! I was wondering if they hired a professional photographer and if they did, why didn’t she catch on?? Great photos!

How cute is that? That was really neat that you got to be a part of it. I would have liked to have seen a close up of that ring though….looks really pretty.
