A Great Lens on a Budget
If you have been reading my blog for any length of time, you know I like taking pictures with my Canon Rebel XT. At the tender age of six months, Elias already knows what to do when I am holding the camera in his face.
Almost since Elias was born, I have been wanting a f 1.4 portrait lens for my camera that would take great photos, without a flash, in low or poor light situations, but it just hasn’t fit into our budget. Well, I found the perfect temporary solution!
ZipLens is an online Nikon and Canon camera lens rental company. They are a small family-owned business that offers a variety of lens at an incredibly low-cost. So if you are:
- wanting to test-drive a lens before buying it
- going on a vacation
- wanting to try something new
check out ZipLens
. I got a lens to try out their service for two weeks and have been blown away by their customer service. They send the lens packed perfectly and you keep everything so you can simply send it back in all the same package – totally stress free! Plus it is very reasonable – my lens was under $40 a week, including insurance.
Since I had to go out of town, I haven’t gotten to play with my lens a ton yet, but mama is going to be playin’ this weekend.
Here are a few shots I have taken (Matthew took the one at the top of the post). These shots are totally unedited – straight out of the camera – and they would have sucked without this great lens!
is offering 10% off any rental just for my blog readers – yippee! Just type in TURNERBLOG on your order. I encourage you to check them out – they are such a great, affordable resource. I know I will use them again.
I have several mini photo shoots planned over the course of the next 10 days, so you will be seeing lots more great pictures thanks to my ZipLens lens.
