Happy 4 Month Birthday, Elias

by jessicaturner on November 12, 2008

You are four months old today. I can’t believe it. It seems like I was just in labor for 30+ hours. You have brought more joy to your Daddy’s and my life than we ever imagined. You are such a happy baby and you smile at us all the time. And we get tickled by every smile.
This past month you have really gotten into putting your hands in your mouth. Daddy calls you his little otter because you kind of look like one with your hands clasped at your mouth all the time. You are also drooling A LOT – as shown in the above picture. :) You are so cute.

Daddy can always get you to smile and you always follow him when he is in the room.

You are also laughing on a daily basis. It cracks us up. You make us work to get you to laugh. Usually, daddy can get you to laugh with his puppets and funny voices.
You are very strong, but don’t love being on your tummy. You have only rolled over a few times, but that will come. You prefer to be sitting up in your bumbo or on someone’s lap as you can see more of the world this way. You are so curious.
While you are growing bigger every day, you still are incredibly content being held close to us. You still love to be breastfed and will stop crying instantly when I bring you to my chest. I try to come feed you at day care on my lunch break whenever possible, and Miss Brenda and Miss Emily say you are always happiest after our time together. I treasure it.
I love you so much, Elias. Thank you for teaching me daily how to give more of myself and to love with a love that is deeper than I have ever known.

I love this picture because I have pictures of me grabbing my feet as a baby, just like this. I know most babies do it, but I still think it is sweet.

Awww… little man! Happy 4 month birthday. I think your parents might be a bit smitten with you, along with the rest of the internet. You manage to make me smile every day :)

Jess… be sure to get a photo when he grabs his toes and sticks them in his mouth. Seriously my favorite baby thing ever! :)

He is such a cutie! He looks like he was pulled straight out of a Gerber commercial. I think it’s great that you take the time to go nurse him at daycare. I’m sure that is a really special way to decompress over your lunch break. Elias is a lucky little guy!

Elias buddy,
Now not to much celebrating it is only 4 months and it is exciting that you are rolling over and maybe starting to get teeth but, its not like you turned 50 like papa did this year!! Keep smiling and giggling little guy because laughter makes the world go round.
I haven’t bought you your first duck hunting gun yet because your still a little small but maybe another month or two!!!!
Love you
Papa Schim

Super cute. But if Elias reads this when he’s older I think he’ll be creeped out by the breastfeeding comments. 😉
