Audrey Caroline

One of my closest Nashville friends, Angie Smith is pregnant too. She is eight weeks ahead of me. She and her dear family have just found out that the little girl she is carrying has several conditions that are lethal… her kidneys are polycystic, her heart is 40% larger than it should be, her lungs are not developing. They have decided to carry Audrey until God decides to take her… if she were to make it to term (which is not expected), she will die as soon as she is born because she won’t be able to breathe with her very underdeveloped little lungs.

Matthew and I have wept for Angie and Todd (her husband) and their three girls. We have asked Why God? – and have no answers. We are trusting, as are the Smiths, that God will use this for His glory – as hard as that is to swallow at the minute. Please pray for them during this time.

I read her story. It absolutely broke my heart. But God will carry her and her family through this and His glory will be revealed. We may not know the reason why, but God reveals in His own perfect timing. Thank you for sharing your friend’s story. I will be praying for her today.
